Octoberfish at the Old Charleston School

Who needs Octoberfest… when there’s Octoberfish!
Hundreds of people came out to Oregon Coast Community Action’s third annual fundraiser to have some fun, while doing good at the same time.

On Saturday, at the old Charleston school off Seven Devils Road, a family fest with fun, food and activities all day long kept everyone busy.
With admission at just a dollar, there was no reason not to come out and enjoy all that Octoberfish has to offer.

Madeline Enos with Oregon Coast Community Action says, “we have live music as well as African drumming and dance. We also have some belly dancing, we have a lot of great vendors here today, delicious food, and then also our children’s activities, face painting and coloring and fish painting… it’s a lot of fun”

Local vendors were set up all around the exterior of the building, and non-profit organizations were invited to set up for free and share information with those in attendance.
Enos says, Octoberfish is a big fundraiser for local projects.

“All the proceeds from today’s event go to ORCCA’s children’s programs like Head Start, Snack Pack, CASA and Community Action Adventure.”

Enos says, if you missed out on this year’s Octoberfish, you can always look forward to next year’s event.
