Airline teams up with local food bank

KCBY, Jul 10, 2012

Seaport Airlines has teamed up with Oregon Coast Community Action to provide a new incentive this month for people to give to ORCCA’s food bank.

From July 1st- July 20th, if you give four cans of non-perishable food items to ORCCA at one of their six drop-off sites around North Bend and Coos Bay, you will recieve a $25 travel voucher from Seaport Airlines that is good until the end of September.

“We always need more food to fill up our family food boxes,” said Amanda D’Souza, Oregon Coast Community Action spokeswoman. “Summer time families are still in need of food, especially with schools out. A lot of those kids who rely on free or reduced priced lunches have less options so emergency food boxes are still in high demand.”

ORCCA says those who donate will only recieve one travel voucher per person for the first four cans donated.

Drop off locations are at the following locations:

In North Bend:
– The Painted Zebra
– Aaron’s
– Seaport Airlines Ticket Counter at the North Bend Airport

In Coos Bay:
– Tom & Gig’s
– NaTech Corporation
– Little Italy
