Washington Interact Club Serves the Community

The Washington High School Interact Club was formed through the sponsorship of the Cedar Rapids Rotary West. In less than two years, the group grew from just over 60 members to include 90 students in grades 10-12. Interact is an example of service learning at its most organized!

“Interact was formed to give students a chance to participate with a service-oriented group,” explained Larry Simons, Interact staff advisor. “The group’s main purpose is service. We actively seek out service opportunities for our students to participate in. We try to have one service project per month.”
